Roman Blind Rethreading — London
Roman blind won't go up? Won't come down? Cord snapped? In almost every case, the blind itself is fine — it just needs rethreading or restringing. We carry this out on-site across London, most jobs completed in a single visit.
What rethreading fixes
Roman blinds work through a system of cords running through rings on the back of the fabric, up through the headrail and down to a cleat or chain mechanism. Over time — or after a sudden snag — that cord system can snap, slip, tangle or wear through.
When that happens, the blind itself is almost always still fine. It's the cording that's failed, not the fabric or the rings. Rethreading replaces the cord system and gets the blind lifting and lowering smoothly again — without needing to replace the blind.
With over 40 years of experience in bespoke curtain making and tailoring, this is one of the most common repairs we carry out, most of it completed on-site in a single visit.
Book a RethreadingWhy rethread rather than replace
A failed cord system doesn't mean a failed blind. Rethreading addresses the actual fault rather than discarding a perfectly good blind.
Rethreading is a fraction of the cost of replacing a Roman blind — particularly a made-to-measure one.
Most rethreading jobs are carried out at your property in one visit, without needing to remove the blind.
A full rethread resolves the underlying cause rather than a knot or workaround that's likely to fail again.
"Highly recommend! The turnaround was incredibly fast despite the short notice, and the work is finished to a quality that's even better than the original. Excellent value too!"— Kate, London

FAQ

They're the same repair — different names for replacing the internal cord system that raises and lowers the blind.
No. A snapped cord is one of the most straightforward rethreading jobs and doesn't mean the blind needs replacing.
